Homophobia. Everyone has it at some point. Some people grow out of it. Others, however, do not. My best friend is gay. He has been my best friend since middle school. I don't understand why people who were born in my generation have to be so rude and judgmental. Like seriously, hes just a normal guy. He may not like vagina like you do, but hes still a normal functioning guy you know! I honestly do not know where I would be without him by my side every day of my life. We may get into little fights now and then, but he's still the most important person I have in my life... (Besides for family).
Being afraid of people with special needs really bothers me too. I am going into Special Education with an emphasis on Autism Studies and it frankly pisses me off that people are afraid of the kids on the spectrum. I understand that they don't act like you, but that is their way of communicating. One really upsetting story I heard this summer at the Autism camp I work at went like this. This little boy (name being hidden for the families protection) was studying with a teacher in Texas and he was completely non-verbal. He was typing on his computer pad that the teacher was teaching him how to use and told his mom that he was ashamed that he had Autism and that he wishes he was NORMAL. He also said he wishes he just had friends who cared about how his day was going or what he was doing after school. It killed me to hear this very upsetting news.
The N Word. Not the word you're thinking of. The NORMAL word. I hate this word on so many levels. No one is normal and if they are, then they must be a very boring person. My best friend is far from normal and so are all of the people who pick on him for his sexuality. The little boy in the story was not normal. Having Autism is not a Disability. Its makes him who he really is.

The Beginning Of My New Life
Being an Imperfect Imperfection is simple. Stay hidden. Away from everything. Being a blurred face in the crowd. I'm used to that. I'm used to having no friends. I'm used to not being accepted for who I am or what I look like. I'm used to being "that girl", not known by name. I guess its always been my nature to hide away all of my feelings and emotions from everyone. I hate being the person who no one knows. Going to college is a big challenge for me. I have never understood this whole friend concept or relationship concept. Making friends is for sure a hard thing to do. I have extreme trust issues. People are liars and fakes. I have only met a few real people in my entire life. I've been best friends with my best friend since 3rd grade. She and I lived a few houses away from each other. We are still best friends. I hate the person I've become. I really need a change. I need to learn how to make friends. People put labels on people and its not right. I've been labeled as the music nerd, fat bitch, stuck up and many others. I know I don't like it.
Thanks.
I hate this old life.
Heres to the new me.
